About Koba

The main focus at Koba is still the same Japanese quality at Koko, but with a more casual, grab and go vibe. Featuring craft boba, Kakigori Japanese shaved ice, and a variety of Japanese snacks, we hope to bring the Japanese convenience store (konbini) culture to Cocoa Beach. Our grab and go fridge will have things like Kyoto style cold brew coffee, Japanese egg salad sandwiches, onigiri, Japanese potato salad, sushi rolls, matcha milk, mochi, and many other snacks that will change seasonally.
All of our toppings, syrups, tea bases and snacks are made in house, and follow the same ethos as at Koko. We use no seed oils, no added preservatives, no food dyes, and source organic where we can, such as organic whole milk, organic soy milk, organic matcha and more. Our sushi features wild caught bluefin tuna, organically farmed Ora King salmon from New Zealand, and high quality koshihikari rice from Japan.

Meet the Chef behind the creations
Koba is the little sister to koko japanese pub, run by husband and wife, Daniel and Tayla. Daniel’s love for Japanese cuisine and culture is the catalyst for both concepts, and the “konbini”, or Japanese convenience store culture was one of the main inspirations for Koba. The others being Japanese tea culture, kakigori and boba. Not Japanese, but fits pretty perfectly with everything else.
Daniel has spent time in world class restaurants and his focus has been to bring these exciting, trending and viral concepts and cuisines to his hometown.
We are blessed to have this with koko and excited to do that same with koba!

Curious about what goes into our boba, kakigori, or snacks? Wondering what we're about or how we keep things fresh and local? Check out these quick answers to keep you in the loop and your cravings satisfied.
What ingredients do you use in your drinks and snacks?
We take pride in everything we create here at Koba. All of our toppings, syrups, tea bases and snacks are made in house. We use no seed oils, no added preservatives, no food dyes, and source organic where we can. Our sushi features wild caught bluefin tuna, organically farmed Ora King salmon from New Zealand, and high quality koshihikari rice from Japan. All of our sweets and snacks will leave you satisified without feeling guilty.
Are you family-friendly?
Absolutlely!! Chef Daniel has three kids that you'll probably see running around from time to time. Give them a fist bump if you see them!
Daniel curated all of the recipes and chose ingredients with his family in mind so you, too, can feel confident that you’re feeding your kids something clean with no dyes, no seed oils, no preservatives, etc. We keep it real.
How often do you update your menu?
Chef Daniel is very creative- have you been to Koko?- and can't sit still long enough to keep a stagnant menu, which lucky for us (and you) means we get new exciting items on the regular. Some items might stay for good, some might change with the season so we highly recommmend following us on Instagram or Facebook to stay up to date with the latest news!
Our grab and go cooler is made fresh and every evolving so new items will popup on a weekly, if not daily, basis.
Do you have any special deals?
Yes! Service Industry Happy Hour! If you work in a restaurant or bar in Cocoa Beach, come and grab any tea, coffee or boba to fuel your shift! 10% off caffeinated items between 3pm-5pm Thursday- Sunday. Just make sure you are in uniform and have a name tag or a swipe card for the place you work.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes! We prioritize natural, organic ingredients and can often adjust items for common dietary needs. Just ask our staff for details when you visit and we'll be happy to make something special just for you.
What sets you apart from other cafes?
With Japanese food being the most viral, hyped and exciting food in the world, we saw an opportunity to bring this concept to Brevard to showcase some of the lesser known but equally delicious Japanese desserts and snacks. Coupling that with our dedication to quality, no seeds oils, artificial dyes or flavors, we’re very excited to bring Koba to life in Cocoa Beach!
Every drink we make is created like a bartender mixes a craft cocktail and every kakigori and food item is prepared like a chef cares over every dish he sends out. We take pride in our product and strive to stand out to keep you coming back for more!
What is kakigori?

Kakigori is Japanese shaved ice, very different from other versions of shaved ice/snow cones due to the shaving process and ice tempering to produce a light and fluffy snow. If you’ve ever eaten fresh, powdery snow, you already know the texture of kakigori!
They are large and shareable, and the best part is drinking all the juice at the end with the straw provided. We also have build your own options available, so feel free to get creative!
Come here to have dessert and because of the great ingredients we use you’ll satisfy that sweet tooth craving but leave not feeling weighed down.
